By bringing together the worlds of fiction and reality, this article highlights the potential for literary texts to offer legal and social insights, particularly in relation to the protection of individual sexual dignity. In order to explore this theme, a basic research methodology was employed, which included a review of relevant literature, such as the biographical context of the author and legal sources such as Bitencourt (2018) and Nucci (2019), in conjunction with the current Criminal Code (Decree-Law 2848/40) and Criminal Procedure Code (Decree-Law 3689/41).
